  1. Naming convention : Institute must have to follow naming guideline. Domain name must be match with institute name or abbreviation of the institute.
  2. Domain availability : Check domain availability on domain registrar ERNET India
  3. Application : Provide required affiliation details and documents plus address prooof to verify instituion status. Check below required document list.
    3A. A formal request on the letterhead of the institute duly signed by the head of the institution.
  4. Payment : Make payment of INR 750 + tax for 1 year domain name registration.
    Along with the formal letter, payment has to be sent through D.D payable at ERNET India, New Delhi. The Domain registration process would be initiated only after receiving the payment, letter and online registration form.
  5. Approval : Relevant authoriy will verify your documents and give approval based on provided data.

Required Documents :

I. Proof/affiliation letter of Educational Institute document issued by UGC/AICTE/Education Board/State Government, etc. If the affiliation letter is in a language other than Hindi or English, it must be verbatim translated by an authorized translator of the court, signed, and stamped by the head of the Institute.
II. Undertaking on a Non Judiciary Stamp Paper of Rs 100.00 only (Annexure-‘A’)
III. Application on Letterhead for domain registration (Annexure ‘B’)
IV. GST Registration Certificate, if applicable. In case the institution is providing the GSTN number of their parent society/trust/foundation etc then the institution has to provide PAN Card and Registration certificate of the parent society/trust. Kindly note that GST invoice will be issued in the name of the institution whose GST Number is provided while filling the application form for domain registration.
V. In case of Societies/Trust/Autonomous bodies, the copy of affiliation of the academic institution opened under it and for which domain name is applied.
